Here in this article, we will discuss ‘how a perfect menu looks like’. First of all, let’s discuss the ideal eating pattern. So you must include foods from every food group i.e., milk, cereals, proteins, fruits, vegetables, and oils.

These selections must then be in a definite proportion. Food taken in must be counted and you must be well aware of what you are eating because YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.

This means if you eat healthy, it will show up on your skin, hair, nails, and overall well-being. But if you eat unhealthy, then the consequences would also be unhealthy.

Coming towards a perfect menu, it has general components like snacks, appetizers, side dishes and main dishes.

Now the question arises, what should these comprise?

Breakfast:

  • One fruit serving
  • One protein serving
  • Cereals or grain portion
  • Milk or milk product

Mid-morning:

  • Snack (sandwich, patty, fruit salad fruit juice, or smoothie)

Lunch:

  • Appetizer (soup, broth, salad)
  • Main dish (protein portion)
  • Side dish =carbohydrate (roti, chapatti, rice)
  • Salad (green vegetables) + yogurt
  • Sweet/Fruit

Evening snack:

  • Tea/ coffee
  • Snacks (chickpeas, beans, pasta, fruit, juice)

Dinner:

  • Appetizer
  • Main dish
  • Side dish
  • No yogurt
  • Sweet dish (trifle, kheer)

Bed-time:

  • Milk serving (can be flavored)

So this is what a menu planned from all food groups look like. If you include all the food portions and eat in a proportion, you are definitely going to achieve perfect health and body figure.

Along with this staying active and hydrated through out the day and getting a good amount of sleep will let you lead a healthy life!
